Wow!! That's a Farre portrait I have never seen! Thanks Carl! He looks to be wearing a pin with the stork of Escadrille SPA 3? Fantastic!

Some of my favorites by the premiere French aviation artist:

Henri de Kerillis, commander of Escadrille C66 and the force behind the infamous raid on Karlsruhe.

There was a very limited edition of Sky Fighters of France published with color plates instead of the black and white plates of the more popular edition. I believe they were also signed by Farré. Not surprisingly, they are VERY expensive.

Some images:

A number of years ago (late 2014 to late 2015-ish), the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson had a large display of more than 30 of Farré's works. Very cool stuff.

Smile

Dan Polglaze, why am I not surprised that you possess a mint copy of this very rare limited edition?

Yes, you and I were both lucky enough to be at the NMUSAF when the Museum had that amazing display of Farré originals. I was in awe, and will always remember the thrill of just walking through it and gazing longingly at those masterpieces.
