Can someone help me with following questions/

On which German planes Raschke props were used?

On 1 Novemner 1914 a German Fokker 2 -seater was forced to land near St. Omer by cpt. Marsh. Doesn anybody know the unit of the Fokker?

Hi Bernard

The German crew were apperently Oblt Hans Lungershausen(P) and Lt dR Ernst Lengeling(O) from FFA 41 who were killed at St Omer within allied lines....

Reschke Propellors were made for The 150 Ps Benz BzIII, the 160Ps Mercedes D.III, the 200Ps Benz BzIV, 260 Ps Mercedes D.IVa Generally the aircraft manufacturer would select 3 propellors that worked best and those would be delivered on the aircraft or as spares.
Some aircraft types were: Alb.C.III, Alb.C.VII(BFW), Alb.C.X(BFW), Alb.C.XII(BFW), Fok. D.VII(OAW)(some.)

Which model Fokker would that have been? I can only find an M-7 which did not appear until January 1915. Thanks.

I believe that Reschke propellers were used on a variety of German aircraft, much like any other propeller manufacturer made many types for different engines, etc., but I haven't seen any comprehensive listing of all of those applications. If anyone has one or knows of one, PLEASE let me know (a list OR a propeller!).

I believe that the M5L (lang) is the two-seater in question. These had longer wingspans and were unarmed except for some examples being fitted in the field with a Mauser semi-automatic rifle on the wing-warping tower. The type also had small viewing areas in the fuselage for the pilot and observer to look down through. These were used during 1914 into 1915. One of these type has been well photographed and had the name "Sumpfhuhn" painted on the side. They were powered with the 7 cylinder 80 h.p. Oberursel UO engine.

The Fokker M5l was a single seater. The aircraft in question was a Fok. M.8. The pilot and observer sat side by side. It was powered with an 80 Ps Gnôme engine,
Deliveries becgan in October 1914. Feldflieger Abteilungen 40 and 41 were equipped with the M.8. single M.8 machines were issued to other F.F.Abt. as wellas the the two bomber unit B.A.O. and B.A.M. They continued in service throught 1915.

Hi all,

the M.8 was called Fokker A.I by the Army. FFA 41 got 6 of these Fokker A´s when the unit was founded in Germany. FFA 41 left the train in Gent on 30. October, was the next day in Staden and acted as reconnaissance section for III. Reservekorps since 1. November. The Fokker A.I was not rated positive as an reconnaissance aircraft but I think I remember Boelcke wrote in a letter he was lucky to get the Fokker monoplane in December 1914.

Dan-San,

I am not shure about the engine of the aircraft - one source says Oberursel U O (7 cyl, 80 hp) and another Oberursel U I (9 cyl, 100 hp) but I did not see a Gnome mentioned. Are you shure about the gnome? (Sometimes German sources called an Umlaufmotor generalising "Gnome".)
