The
Aeromaster decal sheet, which features several variations on Brown's Camel. But the most interesting one appears in a painting by Frank Wooten, showing no fuselage roundels and and red and white tail.

The photo of Brown on my site at:
http://www.accessweb.com/users/mconstab/brown.htm
is definately without fuselage roundels but with two vertical strips. I can't tell if the cowling is painted a different colour. The roundel on the right top wing appears to cover the aileron on the side.

Roy Browns's Engine cowling was RED. i saw a fully reconditioned Sopwith Camel in his paint scheme. Three strips aft of the cockpit, one twelve inch back, 6 inch wide. then twelve inch further down another 6 inch wide strip, 6 inch down and the last strip 6 inch wide. Got photo of this Camel at Biggin Hill airfair England in 2000. it belongs to a company at Brooklands aerodrome. not sure if this Camel is correct but it might help you if you need any more information
