Just got mine via Amazon--well worth the wait. I posted an inquiry on the lengthy German fire superiority thread in the Aircraft section. Noting that a German bomber specification called for Lewis armament, I wondered whether Germany ever tooled up to produce .303 ammo.

They probably had enough ammo leftover from BE 2 kills to hold them for the next three wars.

I have come across a mention elsewhere that some captured Lewis guns were reworked to take 7.92mm ammunition.
