Hi Paul
Welcome to the aerodrome

As Tim said, the image is a little too small.
I imagine you are bumping up against the 50 k limit.
Perhaps if you just posted one of the views at a larger size it would be easier for people to see and give you feedback.
also watch your compresion - When i'm file size limited I usualy set it up pretty high.

You might also want to give us a little info
Like who you are, software, intent etc....

as for the oberusal
The modeling looks pretty good to me.
and it looks to me like you have a generated nice representation of a plastic engine
Which is fine, of course, if that is your intent.
However, I think you might want to play with the spectral properties and add some texture.
It is usualy a gratifying exercise

Mark

Oberursel Engine

Yes the 50k limit is limiting (LOL)
I have posts on Renderosity.com (they have a 500k limit) Its free to join my stuff can be found in the Carrara/aviation section.
So heres just one view.
I work in Carrara (although I will be switching to Amapi)
Iím trying to build a DR-1 but the wings are proving impossible to do in Carrara
As for texturing... I havenít gotten to that part yet. So far all my attempts have that ďplasticĒ look. I tried to put a cross on my DR1 and ended up with a tile effect all across the fuselage
Not to worry I will eventually figure it out.
So who am I?
I was born and raised in....
Iím a digital press operator/prepress/designer/large format operator, originally from Watertown MA now living in beautiful Plymouth MA with my beautiful wife and our one attention driven cat.
I went to school to be an Illustrator but long ago put aside my pencils and brushes to learn this new fangled dig-it-ile stuff.
I have a mac (no debates on PC vs Mac please Iíve used both) and work in photoshop-Illustrator-Carrara+Painter
When I started using 3D modeling software it was my intention to use it to make simple props for digital painting.
Thats me in a nutshell.
Thanks very much for your help and comments!

Hi,

Looks good but the intake pipe looks oddly shaped before it makes the 90.

Good luck with your textures

This is what the engine is for. I have been working on a DR-1 for a while.
I saw yours Tim which I thought is great. I just finished the mid wing and am now attempting the upper wing.
