Eduard von Schleich's Roland C-II

Okie I have acquired this model thanks to UFAG. Great looking Roland in 1:72. Now does anyone have the correct color scheme for this aircraft. It says on the box von Schleich's so I am hoping to get the correct scheme!! Can anyone help?

The Windsock Datafile #49 on the LFG Roland C.II has 3 photos of this machine. I believe it was an early production model left in the factory finish of overall pale blue/grey with the addition of a pair of eyes and a thin mouth painted on the nose. This looks like it may have been a unit marking (or just commonly liked) as it appears on several other Walfisch in the book. No serial #s were in evidence.

p.s. I picked up the Aviatik from UFAG and am just waiting to be able to afford the Datafile on it before I jump in.

Yes the boxart shows a palish blueish/grayish/dakr white color and the kit has the decals for the eyes and mouth. THanks

Roland C.II Walfisch from Schusta 28b. (Schleich)

Jasta 5 Von Muller:
In our forth coming book, "Schlachtflieger!" by Rick Duiven and I, this machine is illustrated in a very pale blue with iron crosses on white crossfields. A black circle for the eye and a black mouth are painted on the nose. I believe these were Schusta 28b markings.

von Schleich service dates

Dan-San

When did von Schleich command Schusta 28b? When would he have been flying this Walfisch?

And...when will "Schlachtflieger!" come out?!

Thanks Dan-San

Thanks for the info, Dan-San. Kind of interesting for him to be flying an early version of this plane so much past it's due date. And one that appears to be unarmed! A squadron hack, perhaps?
