Jasta 34b Fokker Dr. 1

Hi,
I am considering building a model of the Fokker Dr. 1 flown by Oblt. Robert Greim. My question concerns the " whitish-silver " paint applied aft of the cockpit on this unit's aircraft. Was this paint taken from standard factory supplies, or was it mixed up in the field from other paint supplies? What would be considered a good match for this color? Thanks.
Willy

Here is my version with a mix of med. gull grey and white with some weathering. It is after the cylindritis incident.

Since there are few (if any) eye witnesses walking arround, and even fewer color pics; I would not worry about the "exact" color. My guess is that it was field mixed and I'm sure they didn't worry about any Tech order or matching a Metheun or FS color #.

A Happy, Healthy and Prosperous to all here on the 'drome.

I used Floquil old silver, a model RR color! Check the most memorable builds etc. thread for pics, or Internet Modeler for a complete description. IHTH,

How about standard Silbergrau - as used by the Pfalz company and on several Albatros D.V's? Or should it be lighter than this color? Misterkit makes a premixed Silver gray, although I have not yet used it.
