Airdrome Aeroplanes

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with http://airdromeaeroplanes.com/ and whether you would recommend their project kits or not. Thanks!

Well, I'm hoping to build an aeroplane - possibly a WW1 replica but more likely a simple ultralight. Would you have any advice of where to look? I'm no engineer but it's been my dream for many years.

These planes are ultralites(especially the 3/4 scale) that resemble replicas. The most blatant non replica aspects are the bracing wires on the Fokker D VI, D VII, and Dr. 1, and the horrible wing struts on the D VIII.

They make aircraft that look like the typical ultralights too. On the left side of the home page nearer the bottom you can click on the Dream Classic series. They look a bit like the Demoiselle. They go for something like $3000 or $4000.

Yeah, I really like the simple, elegant look of the Dream Classic, although an ultralight Eindecker would be pretty awesome. I'm wondering, though, how much that would cost with the engine included, and whether it'd be possible to build one for considerably less. I'll do it no matter what, but it's a matter of whether I have to wait several years for the money.

how do they fly ?

I was wondering if anybody could give me some flight report of a full scale Fokker D-VII Nieuport 17 and Nieuport 28.

I mean some real flying .

Thinking of having one of these aeroplanes build as a LSA or Experimental craft not the ultralight version.

Your input will be most welcome.

Thank you and best regards

Helmuth

Helmuth,

If you will read through the Flyboys movie thread on this website, I believe you may find some information regarding how the Nieuport models flew.

Jim

Hi Jim,
sorry I did not get the info I was looking for from the thread. Maybe I keep looking at the wrong places.

Cheers
Helmuth
