Funeral and Ceremonies

I know it is a very general question...but as well it is.

When a body of a killed pilot was recovered by the enemy there always had been a funeral held by the opposite, ot the bodies will be sent to the respective squadron?
thanks in advance.

sorry for my bad english.

Often the pilots were buried where they fell until the end of the war when the respective countries sent "graves registration" investigators into the countryside.

thanks mates.
your efforts have been very important to me.
