The origins of the Alérion date back to 1915 when French patent No. 502.250
was issued to Louis Lacoin and several others. Later the engineer Louis Damblanc came in and he realized this helicopter design in 1920. The pictures (a whole series) show the tests done at Villacoublay in September 1920. The machine left the ground but crashed when the rotor construction collapsed. Experiments were not proceeded with.
Louis Damblanc continued as a rocket scientist.
