27th Aero Squadron Aircraft Insignia

Hi
I'm new to the forum. Please excuse me if I make any mistakes due to lack of knowledge of how it all works. Several years ago I found the 27th's Squadron insignia. I believe it was once owned by a former squadron member. What do I have in regard to historical significance and all that goes with it? Any insight would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi There!!!

Could you post a photo of the insignia?? Is it off an airplane, or does it appear to be painted on something other than fabric. What are the dementions. Is there any pedigree on it??

27th Aero Squadron Insgnia

Hi
Thanks for your input. I bought the insignia some tears past from a
Northern Cal book dealer.Along with the insignia,I also received original unit paperwork and a book on the 27th.The insignia is painted on linen and cut from the left side of the aircraft. It is currently mounted on a 3'x2' fiber board and framed. Leroy J. Prinz was the original owner. He was a pilot in the unit who later became a famous Hollywood choreographer. I've been told the insignia hung in his office in Hollywood I've tried to contact family but no avail. All the material appears to be real but .... Any insight?
Thanks for your time
Robert

Yes, please get it remounted on acid-free museum backing, under museum 99% UV protected glass, so future generations can see it in good condition
