Is there a listing of aircraft designers? I'm interested in my late uncle, Robert Goodyear, who worked for Consolidated Vultee and Boeing. Regretted designing twin-stabilizer configuration for B24. It got in the way, and one would have served just as well.

Can't help you on the bio. info. re engineers but the Army B-24 and the the Navy "Privateer" (BTW: the Navy ships were primarily single rudder a-c) are covered well on a website which can be accessed with a search for "B-24 Liberator." "The Log of the Liberator" by Birdsall is probably the best book on the plane. Barnes & Noble have used copies of it @ "b.n.com" (in their "Out of Print Category") Best Regards. LEB

The B32 which was Consolidated's competitor to the B29 had a single rudder. It had a very limited production run. It was called the Dominator.

Thanks! I didn't know that. I don't know whether Uncle Bob worked on that one or not.
