Greetings fellow history buffs,

I have seen the name Escadrille Lafayette, Lafayette Escadrille and Escadrille LaFayette. Does anyone know which version is correct?

"Escadrille Lafayette" is French; LE is English (well, at least American English). Can't say about the capital F...

Based on the name of the Marquis de Lafayette for whom the outfit was named and the French practice of putting descriptive names and adjectives after their respective nouns, "Escadrille Lafayette" should be correct.
