Last week I attended my first League seminar in Seattle, Washington. For anyone who wasn’t there, it was wonderful and worth every penny! Everyone I met was so warm and welcoming. One also found much generosity with research assistance from some of the best in the business!
In all, nine presentations were given including a ride in a Fokker Dr1 via a head cam and kisses (OK, the chocolate kind) for everyone who heard the story of Austrian-Hungarian ace,
Josef Kiss. Additionally, members got to spend half a day at the Museum of Flight. An entire floor filled with aircraft and related material was devoted to World War One and a similar floor represented WW2. I found it really exciting to experience the relative scale of all the different planes.
The League though desperately needs to increase the membership in order to stay ahead of expenses. Membership includes the quarterly journal Over the Front that becomes a priceless archive of articles, photos and more. To join, visit the web site
