Who's going to the Dayton Dawn Patrol 2005

Howdy all,
Who all is going to the Dawn Patrol in Dayton the end of this month??

It may not be flyable by then but I'll have my 1/4 scale Fokker EV with the streaked wing there, no matter how it turns out.
Not totally happy with the results, had some hanger rash that needed repaired.
Hope to see ya there.

I'm going to try to be there. Though I am still not sure events will allow it.

I'll be there too, but may be in a similar situation as you Deljon.

Ryobi 31cc conversion engine is giving me fits (three dead sticks with the Siemens Schuckart D1). I was sure hoping to be in the "more comfortable" flying zone at this point with it. Instead, I'm getting good at putting it in the "beans" with little damage.

I ordered a new U.S. 41 Sunday, but they (USQ Aero) are proving to be unresponsive, and I may have cancel and go another route (G38 or order from B&B). Either way, sure hope to get something more dependable hung on the front and get some flying in this weekend. Hoosier Dawn Patrol coming up the 24th too.

My Gallery
I hope to be there Sunday afternoon. I will have driven to Ohio from Nova Scotia when I get there Sunday and I fly from Ohio to Colorado the next day so if you see me I'll have a dazed look.

I missed the fly-in in 2003 (didn't know about it until I visited the USAF museum the following week), so this will be my first one.

Are all of the exhibits out by the runway where they do the RC flying or are there some exhibits in the museum as well? I hope to bring my mom (83 year RCAF veteran). Her walking ability is limited so we're planning to bring a wheelchair. I've been to one RC flying event and I remember the area as being impossible for wheelchairs.

Russell, looking forward to seeing your artwork.

The latest note from the R/C Event Director, Dean Lukover, included an updated field layout (which if I do this right should appear below):

The flying machines, both full size and models, will not be accessable to the general public, but all of the exhibits are, and the flying machines are very close to the fence

And add my sorry name to the list of folks already listing excuses, but my fleet of models will be very small - but I am bringing my homework (two birds still under construction) for harrassment by the quicker builders and better planners

'til later,

Lee McDuffee
