Why are there no speakers on the second day? Honestly, I think that's why most of us attend... museums are great but we can do the tourist thing on our own any time (with a much lower entry fee). I'd rather hear Denny May or Stew or Greg or Alan or Dan San... man, when Pete Grosz was with us, I could sit and listen to that guy all day.

I'm sure it will be a fun time and a great experience as always, but I do prefer the two-day lecture format.

Initially we were going to split the lecture program over two days, doing the presentations in the morning and then going to the museums in the afternoon. But then we started checking around on bus rentals. The prices we were quoted were high enough that renting the busses for two days would have put the seminar out of reach for many and, since we wanted to keep the registration price the same as last time, we decided to put both museums on one day and all the lectures on the other day. We also considered staying downtown at the same Holiday Inn we used for the '96 Washington seminar, and if we'd done that we could have avoided the issue by simply walking to the downtown NASM and only renting busses for the second day's trip to Dulles. But the hotel rate downtown was $50 a night higher than at Rosslyn, so once again the cost would have been more than some might have wanted to pay. Further, the Holiday Inn Capitol simply neglected to answer our inquiries about things like banquet rates, etc. So that's what happened. The program is what it is to keep the costs down.
