Will the R/C guys be able to pull campers up to the R/C "pit" area like 2007?
That was really convenient.

Dayton hotels/cars link?
Rick,
I looked for the link with the hotel and car rental listing on the GWAA site but didn't see it. Is it or will it be under the Dayton 2009 link?
Also, when do most folks arrive and congregate? I may have a ham/pilot/retired Air Force buddy come along so we can spend at least a day going through the Air Force museum there.
Thanks,
Darrel

Darrel,
Try this link:
Hotels and Rental Cars
The flying starts at 9:00am Friday/Sat/Sun. On Wednesday & Thursday, airplane owners will be assembling their aircraft at the Museum's restoration hangar. If your AF retired friend has Base ID card, you guys might be able to visit the hangar. Once you are on the Base, you can eat on the Base. There are some good restaurants open during workday hours. You could certainly spend most of the day Thursday visiting the museum, and then later visit the hangar & field (the field should be open, I think). Most of the GWAA pilots will stay at the Hope Hotel.

Thanks for the hotel info
Jan,
Thanks. I'll go ahead and book a room at the Hope. I was planning on coming in Wednesday anyway so that would work out great. Will we need a car if we stay at the Hope? If everything is within walking distance may be we can find a shuttle or cab from the airport.
This will be my first time to Dayton, so I don't know how the area is laid out or where everything is in relation to the Rendezvous. I'll learn.
Thanks again,
Darrel

Darrel,
It's mandatory to get a rental car at the Dayton Airport. You can't walk the distance.
Your adgenda for Thursday:
You should visit the Wright Bros flying field at Huffman Prairie, which is about 1.5 mi from the Hope Hotel. Then keep driving another 3 mi and visit the Wright Bros memorial center & enjoy the view of the Base. You can see the exhibits & watch a movie there. Then, get back in the car and drive a mile to the AF Museum. Before you tour the Museum's galleries, get a reservation to be bussed over to the Museum's Annex (on-Base) to see more aviation. That will be enough to call it a day, right there!

Hi Everyone,
I just thought I give the thread a bump...
As time nears this great event and hopefully we will have more information from the GWAA on the activity and what planes are attending I thought I give the link to the last DPR 2007 that a lot of pic's from the event and a good showing of Aerodromer's there too.
Dawn Patrol Rendezvous - 2007
AAC Cadet Leader, Martha........
As time get's closer to this event I would like to start collecting names for who's coming and what is the chance of having your name tags made again this year? You know it was a great hit as it made the event that much better as we could see other Dromer's there.
Remember these...
I had ask Scott also if there was something he could do about have a Aerodrome presence there like selling hats, shirts, car window stickers, memberships.
Thanks...
Lloyd...
