We'll be there! Some Oshkosh report also.

I just finished booking our flight into Dayton for the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous. We will be arriving Wednesday, September 23 and leaving Sunday, September 27.

Jim Hill, K6UUW and I, Darrel Jones, WD6BOR, will be there. We just got back from the Pietenpol fly-in at Brodhead, WI and Oshkosh. We saw lots of airplanes, including some nice scale replicas at the Replica Fighters area. There were several Airdrome Aeroplanes' aircraft there, including Dick Starks' Morane parasol, Sharon Starks' DH-2, Butch Whitlock's Fokker D.VII, and Eric and Debbie Presten's new Bleriot XI which they put together in 29 days just before Oshkosh. There was also a Nieuport biplane, but I didn't get the details on that one.

Jim and I would love name badges for the week. I only know people from this forum and would like to put faces to the posts. Jeff I'll recognize. As tempting as the Airdrome Fokker D.VII is, I think I still would like to build the full size aircraft.

See you there!

We had name tags at the last event, that AAC Cadet Leader graciously made for us. I still have mine, and it was a great idea. Dawn Patrol Rendezvous - 2007
There should be some activity going on Wednesday at the AF Museum hangar (Hangar 4 C & D, Area B). Darrel if you need help on where to go, what to do, give me a phone call (I won't have my HT with me).

My Gallery
thanks for asking

hi guys,
hmm. i s'pose i could devote a day or two again toward some name badges ... but only if you guys promise to take another group photo. set a place and time so you're all there for the group photo, wear your name badges in it and use a good camera (or two or three).

and i could come up with a cool aerodrome forum t-shirt iron-on pocket design (if scott likes the idea). everyone bring a clean, blank shirt and someone bring an iron.

um, are there any voulnteers for sponsoring for this effort? last time, costs to print, laminate, and two-day shipping came to @ $200. our generous and kind webmaster footed the bill last time. anyone? or two or a few?

I organized the pic last time and went around and gathered everyone up for the photo shoot I am sure I can organize that part again and get the photos again. I wished I could afford to donate to help out this year but I been off work for a year and im still fighting to get enough up to go this year.

But I will coordinate the photo shoot again this year

This was a good idea at the last one. I think because everyone is not going to be there on the same day that we need to take one each day to get everyone. I'm sure Stephen could make an announcement like he did last time to round us up. There were a lot that missed the group photo like Taz, Dave Watts, Darrin Whiteside, Russ, Rick, Luckydog, ect.... Taking a photo each day the would give a better opportunity for everyone in getting in one of the group photos.

My Dad and I will be there again. I also still have my badge from 2007.

See ya there.

ps: I am willing to chip in to help with the cost of name tags. I understand the cost. We looked into the same for our Southern Dawn Patrol R/C fly in last December and even using much lower quality badges, the cost added up quickly.
