Panoramic Group Shot - Poor Color
Afternoon, Mike
I received both Panoramic Photos just before my latest business road trip - my very brief look at the main photo was favorable, but the R/C version was pretty blurry on the ends. Didn't notice the color balance on the main one, but it was a pretty brief look. I'll take a better look at it this weekend when I get back home.

AAC,
The " Grunt " is named Eric, he's from Detroit, I met him at the 2007 DPR . He was with other re-enactors then, but they didn't show this year. I don't believe in involved with our forum
You had Tim engaged in some very deep conversation, he missed wing-walking the DV11 and the Triplane when they landed. It would have made a great photo!.......Bob

Pan-A View Pics
Lee and Mike, I agree, at $25.00 per print, the color balance of the Dawn Patrol group photo is awful and the RC pic is just plain out of focus (photographer didn't use a tripod for that shot). I'm thinking about returning the prints for a refund.
There are very simple ways to push the color balance during processing of the print, even before the introduction of digital photography.
The picture from 2007 is excellent, I know it wasn't as nice this time weather-wise, but this is not good product. Any suggestions to encourage a reprint?

I'd start by assuming that the photographer/printer is a good guy and will just give you a reprint if you say you're unhappy. If he balks I'd come at him en masse and let him know it's either reprint or refund.
There's no excuse for bad color in this age of unlimited digital control or in this economy. As far as the focus problem you're kinda stuck. Despite the b.s. you see on TV there really is no good way to sharpen an out of focus shot. All you can do is bump up the contrast which looks like hell. It's pretty much take it or leave it on that one.

I got my my quarterly Air Force Museum magazine the other day and there are several nice photos of the full scale planes at DPR last September.
However, I was significantly put off by the fact that there was not one word or one photo of the 70+ scale R/C planes that participated in that event.

We're still the bastard step children apparently. Oh well.... some things will probably never change.
It was nice at the banquet that they didn't have the RC guys last as usual. It really honked me off in years past (when that was the case), and a number of folks would just up and leave. Just plane rude.

The big planes may be the main draw for the tourists but during the two times I went to the Rendezvous it seemed obvious to me that the RC people were the main driving force behind the event. I love scale models so I may not be a fair judge, but I enjoy the research and craftsmanship that goes into the RCs as much as the manned aircraft. Your smaller scale planes are usually more faithful to the original aircraft!
You guys are the best but I ain't goin' in the swamp for nobody! We should just vacate that section of the field.

"Group
We just had the years first planning meeting and are looking for builders (finished or projects) that would like to be included on the mailing list for joining us in the fun at Dayton. If you would like to bring your project to Dayton, let me know and I will have the Museum send you a packet.
The dates are September 25 to 27.
Rick Bennett"
Hi Rick,
I'm building a full scale Bristol F.2b fighter. Please add me to the mailing list for the next event. Thank you.
