Fokkers to Dayton
It looks like the plans will come to fruition and we will be bringing three Fokkers from Denver to Dayton for Dawn Patrol 2009: Dr.I, D.VII, and D.VIII from the Lafayette Foundation. They are trying to find some sponsors to help with the cost of the trip and the filming of a documentary about it, and have put up a clip on youtube,
.
Now, if the Canadians will bring some allied aircraft.....

baldeagle,
Thanks for the video. Can you post that also in the DPR tread to let those readers know too.
I guess Fred was right in saying that this years show will be one of the biggest showing of plane that they have had before.
Once I get a list I will be putting that up in the other thread after the deadline has past for the registration.
Also baldeagle are you coming?
Lloyd...

Hey Andrew,
I'll donate some money to help cover your gas. I guess I just contact the Foundation?
(Lloyd, he's flying the D8!)

All three aircraft are flying well, and I leave for Denver tomorrow. We're hoping to start on Friday and take our time going across. Tentatively first stop Friday night Russell, KS, Saturday night Marshall, MO, Sunday Creve Coeur, MO, Monday Winchester, IN, and Tuesday Red Stewart Airport near Dayton. As of this point weather looks good-

The three Fokkers are in Russell, Kansas for the night. So far only minor problems with the airplanes. Weather was good for the first day, and is supposed to be good for tomorrow also, when we head for Gardner, KS and on to Marshall, MO.
There is a blog linked on the Lafayette Foundation site, Lafayette Foundation , blog is

Good Luck and have fun!

Yup that's me, somebody in BWI airport in Baltimore recognized it when I was flying out to Denver on Thursday. Lots of people know Youngs.
We're getting ready to go at Russell KS now, a skip on one mag on the D.VII so we're cleaning spark plugs, but hope to be going soon.
