I have been building WWI aircraft in 1/72 scale for some 30 years. Just got back into it after a long hiatus. Mostly military assignments. I would like to become a member, but not sure how.

An excellent site. Pleased to find my 2nd Cousin Edgar George Davies listed in the Aces section. I have researched him for the family history and found he had claimed 33 aircraft shot down but it was reduced to 15 then after his death 10. I can trace 11, he shot down 2 KB's at Comines not one. He died test flying his allocated SE5A H7162 coded E at Bickendorf Aifield, Germany.

Returned to this website after not viewing it for eight years. Was curious to view again my father's WW1 record listed under Aces. Somewhat dismayed to note commercialization of website since my last visit.

My great uncle Jesse James was inducted into the Army Air Corp 8/1/1918 at Paris, Mo.

His record indicates he was at BUFFALO ACCEPTANCE PK, BUFFALO, NY until discharge.

Does anyone have info on this place? Google search shows no WWI info.

Thanks

Great site.
Arthur Hicks Peck, DSO, MC & Bar, who is listed as an Ace was my wife's father's first cousin. He went on to become a Group Captain in later years. Although born in Darjeeling, India, his father, Lt Col Francis Samuel Peck, IMS, was a Bristolian. Arthur's uncles were all military men, and his great uncle had served in the Crimea and the Indian Mutiny.

This is a jaw-dropping compendium of information. It provides a connection back into aviation's infancy.
I flew as an observer on Forward Air Control missions in Laos during the Vietnam War. There's something about hazarding it all in a small airplane that brands one forever...

I have just come into possession of a wooden propeller with
signatures of a number of significant aviation pioneers, including
Charles Lindbergh. Many of the signatures are from members of
The Quiet Birdmen. Any help in getting more information would
be greatly appreciated.

Enjoyed the site. Was reading my Grandfather's memoirs and decided to find more info about the type of aircraft he flew during the war. Have a pic of him in his RE8 with tail number CV869 3B. He was 2nd LT Charles E Richardson with Royal Flying Corps' 4th Squadron. Would appreciate any information on this aircraft or unit. Thanks!!

Is Harold Balfour the father of author Ian Balfour? According to Wikipedia, Ian is (was?) the second baron of Inchyre. Ian Balfour the author is a diamond historian and former jeweler. He's written a handful of books on historic diamonds. Does anyone know if he's the same Ian Balfour as mentioned on Wikipedia?
