I got more information about building and painting accurate WWI models from the discussion Forum than from most other sites. Keep the discussions going, guys!

I like the site very much but I think it's time to get South African ace Beauchamp-Proctor's fist name right -- it's Anthony, not Andrew!

Brilliant webpage. This is one, if not the best webpage I've seen on W.W.I aeroplanes. It's well set out, clear, concise with plenty of colour and black and white photographs of the aeroplanes and pilots concerned. What more could you ask for! Great! This page brings new life to a subject that's all too often ignored in favour of the aerial battles of later wars with faster, more advanced machines. I think most people aren't interested in W.W.I because the technology just wasn't as sexy as it was in W.W.II or after. However, the fighter pilots took to the air over the western front during W.W.I had just as much skill and courage as any modern air ace today. They didn't have advanced computers or ejection seats either. British pilots took to the air without parachutes! Kitchen

I have heard stories about wwi aces challenging each other to aerial duels over the trenches. Are they any related cases?
