Great site! I am researching Gen. Frank O' Driscoll Hunter, a very close friend of our family. Aside from the many WWI & WWII stories he recounted as I was growing up in Savannah, he took me under his wing and treated me like a grandson. He was indeed the kindest of spirits and renouned for his thick brushy eyebrows, hawk-like eyes, and full bristling moustache, which looked as if he had just stepped out of a wind tunnel. It was quite impressive to read your listing of his accomplishments.

Arthur Draisey was a (probably quite distant) cousin of my late Grandfather Ifor
Draisey of South Wales. There's an Edwin Draisey on the Theipval memorial, he was
from Brentford Middx and doubtless related to Arthur. Thanks for the information,
great site.

Comming up for Memorial weekend, enjoyed being with the people I met through my older brother when I was there before. Hope someone will be there to see the place again. Good luck to all that care about the place, would be a tremendous loss if they couldnt fly anymore.

Hi Folks ,
I am looking for some help . Did Donald MacLaren make models ( from scratch ) of the Sopwith Camel during 1922-23 ?
If he did I think I have one . I was told when I got it that it was in the Officers Rec. room over the Mantel . Can anyone out there help me ?
THX ,
Rick

I have always been interested in Warplanes, of both wars and the more present ones, especially the fighters, I am doing a project on WW1 and I thought I would look up 'Aces and Aircraft' through the Google search engine.
I have found your website very interesting and good fun.
I have put your site on my favourites bar, and I'm sure I will visit it again.
Keep up the good work, Thank you

Just purchased Lt. Herman Becker's (Jasta 12) medals in a presentation case at the Baltimore, MD Gun Show on 3-18-2006. Great to find Lt. Becker listed on your site. Unfortunately, the Cross of the Order of the House of Hohenzollern was not part of this collection; which contained the Iron Cross 1st & 2nd, Black Wound Badge and 1914-1918 War Service Medal.

Excellent! As it so happens I was looking for research material on the 24th squadron of the RAF, since I'm an historical gamer. This is a gold mine. beautifully done, easy to navigate and full of all the right information. Thank You.

My 85 year old mother was cleaning out her jewellery box this week and came across an RAF ring she believes belonged to her Grandfather Alexander George Cooper. I've been researching this and it appears he enlisted twice 1916-1918 and then again in 1919. Thanks to your site it appeard he was a Lt. AG Cooper B6362 and served with Ace Clifford McEwen.

I've tried to do research on the ring to no avail - can you tell me if there is a site where I can confirm its from WW1?

Thank you.
