Does anyone have a view or know what was on the right side of Albert Balls Nieuport 17 c # A213? Specifically were the markings, the A and bar shown as a mirror image or were they marked with the A towards the tail and the bar in front of the roundel?
Thanks, Bob

I have, till now, only had a curious interest in my grandfather. but having refound some of his document from WW1 inc. photos, Technical orders 651 to 704 and manuals for Clerget and Beardsmore engines. I belive Albert Cecil Stokes served with 74 Squadron any information would be greatfully recieved.

Ye might want to double check your research. Many of your 'English' aces were Irish; Mannock and Dolan to name but two.

have recently finished a Bristol Scout replica for static display, full size but not for flying. During the build we tried to find a 5/17 compass & failed so took our own photos & measurements from a museum sample & made a replica which looks great.
Have a second set of components awaiting completion if anyone out there is interested, could be finished for mounting in another static airframe or made to be displayed.
Also still have the photos we took if they are of help to anyone

I am touched to find a detailed service record of my late great grandfather Leonard ''Titch'' Rochford. A big thanks to the people on the behalf of my family that have composed these records.

All the best

Hello to everyone,

Looking for photos (if any) of captured Avro Lancasters with German markings. I've seen a flying Stirling with such markings. Many thanks in advance.

There was an article on the BBC regarding the rediscovery of the Red Cross World War One records in Geneva. Historians are now beginning to review the material. If we know the date and approximate location of the airfields that Bishop attacked in 1917 when winning his VC, we can confirm the missions success from the German casualty reports from that day.

Its obvious to all he flew the mission and a rebuttal to those who attack his deeds by claiming a lack of evidence.
