Many thanks to your excellent site. I have been able to track down the Squadron and Observer who flew with Lieut. R.P. Harvey, when they attacked 4 enemy aircraft, shotting one down. Both were awarded the Military Cross.
Thanks
Don McLean

I find your materials very educational since I did at one time in I had a collection of WW 1 aircraft in my younger years but threw them away when I entered high school now I'm sure it would cost a fortune to reconstruct such collection.

Forgot two things in my just previous comment. Aerodrome is a great site, in fact it made me decide to start making models the first one I bought is the Camel. Also am planning to go back to Penacola N.S., they have a great collection of these old timers. By the way if someone has a answer to my Question in my first comment you can reach me at cookiejar70@hotmail.com

I've always like these old planes but know little about them. Saw a History Channel program a fews weeks back and they made mention about castor oil spewing back on the pilots. I again saw reference [ "I could smell his castor oil" ] to it here on the web. Will some one out there tell me what it's all about, thanx.

Very interested to find a reference to my grandfather who flew Nieuports in No 1 Squadron RAF. I see he is credited with 1 shared 'kill'

His name was FG Baker (2/Lt FG Baker (B3630)). Ther FG stood for Francis George
He died 35 years ago by according to my father he never mentioned his 'kill' once.
I still have his log book somewhere.

I was wondering whether anyone else has more info on him?
I can contribute to this site with a bit of detail around him if the webmaster consents

Found your web site searching for my Great Uncle who(I was told) flew the Red Baron. My Grandmother wasn't sure of the last name, since her father had changed his when he left Germany in the 1800s.
