I have a old photo (199-1929), I think, of a biplane with pontoons attached for water landing. The photo was taken upstate New York, possibly Seneca Lake or Cayuga Lake. I am looking for someone to identify the plane for me. Thanks

I am the Grand Daughter of A. H. Cobby. I was born in Melbourne Australia the only daughter of Neil W. Cobby (deceased) who was the only son of Australia's most famous WW1 flying ace. I am interested in hearing from anyone that maybe able to share some stories about my grandfather. He died before I was born. I am also interested in getting a copy of his autobiography released in 1981 by Kookaburra & finding out which war museum has his medals in Australia????

I'm an aviation artist. I have been specializing in WWII 8th Air Force with a sidebar of modern military jets (I have gotten a couple of AT-38 Talon rides for my work for the USAF). A few aviation art friends have turned me onto the WW1 era - looking forward to learning all I can and putting some images down in oil. http://wademeyersart.tripod.com.

A quite interesting and easy to handle site... Trully pleasant and simple to get a non insignificant ammount of files in very short time... A vast deposit of information available even to people who are not highly interested in history. Congratulations on your efforts.-

Hi there:

My grandfather Hans James Schwade was one of the German flying pioneers. He got his pilot license in France (#115) in 1909. He built his own planes. During WWI he developed fighter planes which were not produced in suffient numbers to get to the front.

I enjoy this site

This is a wonderful site and it honors the men who risked their lives on a daily basis for their countries.

Could the Aerodrome please make one small correction. My father, J.S.T. Fall, did not die in Enderby. He passed away quietly at the extended care unit of the Duncan Hospital only a few miles away from where he was born.

Thank you, Mike Fall

That was interesting. In just a few seconds I found who appears to be my grandfather (Francis Jefferies Williams). I knew he was a RAF pilot in WW1. According to this site he actually had 5 victories...good for him!!

Now if only I can get some help finding info on Peter Ernest Morris (father) who was a Fitter in the RAF during WWII. Any help would be appreciated.
