Another master-piece from the Jedi-master of the aviation art world. The clarity of detail is amazing. I love your skill with colour especially the way you have surrounded the strong red of the Baron's triplane with the warm colours of the sky and grass, allowing the red to act as a focal point but not dominate the painting. Of all the world's aviation artists, I think that you are the best at drawing and rendering the human figure. Only England's Michael Turner comes close in terms of draughtsmanship but you paint facial features and skin tones much better than he does. The picture captures the final moments before Von Richtofen's last patrol perfectly before he met his fate at the hands of Camel pilot Roy Brown or an Australian Lewis Gunner depending on which historian you believe. Naturally, as an Antipodean, I lean towards the latter! All the best from your young apprentice.

Great picture Jim. I had a very nice print of this given to me last year and it is now (very nicely) matted and framed. It is on the wall alongside a very large photo print of a Jasta 2 Albatros. My wife really likes both of them! (Yeah, she was a good catch!)
