This is a piece that I did at the request of a client for the cover of Windsock Datafile #129, Albatros C.XII, Vol. 2.

(Caption from Windsock Datafiles) "Testing Time" - The Beobachter of the sleek and elegant Albatros C.XII(OAW) C1200/17 looks over the cockpit side during a qualification test flight. As was normal for most back seaters, he was not strapped in with a belt or harness during large portions of most missions. This aircraft was the first OAW C.XII built and was used as a typenprüfung or test-type for OAW production of 100 C.XII aircraft. The OAW C.XII were plagued by weight gain during their production, which seriously compromised their performance.

Very nice indeed Russ! The handling of light is particularly good, as is the sense of depth.

This is a superb piece with lighting to match. I knew that the Albatros had plywood bodywork, but this is the first time I've actually seen it - in action, as one might say. Powerful work.

A very beautiful painting of a beautiful airplane. Also, i would like to say that I'm glad to be back to this forum. I was a member long time ago but had some issues and I also forgot my e-mail and password, but I have a new e-mail.

Glad to be here.
