Greetings and Salutations to ALL

AS you ALL are aware Most ALL Hobby Paint manufactuers retail their colors in 1/2 oz./15ml jars. Due to Local Supply problems in Milan Italy MisterKit have used 1oz/35ml plastic bottles to retail the same 1/2 oz/17ml Contents.

Brand NEW FULL 1oz/34ml Content STOCK is due for delivery NOW.

The Orignal 17 ml Content Stock will remain available until they are gone.

Also Some Individuals have asked which MK Colors were appropreiate for particular Common Camo Schemes. I forwarded these inquireies to Italy and received a response from one of the original MK WWI Aircraft Color Series Developers.

NOW PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Remember these are NOT Dogmatic/Ablsolute Profiles. There are like ANY Other Profile. They Are Suggested MK Colors for each Nationality and some common Aircraft. Please Remember they Are ONLY Suggested MK Colors.

Also Included in the UPDATE Available are Badger Model 121 Batt Op Paint Mixers (Mechanical Stirrers)

Love the camo scheme info mate. This will make ordering paints so much easier.

Now if they would do them in rattle cans....

Check it out there are a lot of basic how to airbrush stuff. I just got these tips in a Hobby News Sales email. Also just got an Aztec 4709 AWESOME and Then Some And A Bag of PoTATO CHIPS! Very worth it wish it had been the first Airbruch I bought. It would have been the ONLY one I have.

Idiot's Guide: Airbrushing Part 1

I came in contact with Chad Bailey, a Utah native, owner and artist of Aviation & Naval Art. His entire art
is for sale on GreatModels website under www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/search.cgi?terms=aviation_+naval_+art.
Chad is also one of the world-renown artists providing box art to Trumpeter.

Mr. Bailey, aside from being a personal friend, accepted the HUGE task of teaching an "idiot's Modeler" like me the
basics of airbrushing. It came to my attention during the Italeri AB-41 painting that airbrushing small wavering lines
around the tank was not a task for an "idiot's modeler".

The following is an excerpt of the first HOUR spent with Chad:

Tips: Know your airbrush: I have an Iwata HP-C. It is VERY nice, but deserves proper cleaning and understanding
the workings of its components.

1. Mixing your paint: Chad like the paint to be the consistency of "Whole Milk" (not 2%). Tamiya acrylics were mixed
with 20-30% tap water. The nozzle of the airbrush was plugged with one finger while pushing/pulling the "trigger".
The air "bubbled" inside the cup, mixing water and paint.

2. Straighten the tip of your needle: My needle had its tip slightly bent. Chad checked it in the light, then rolled it
between a hard surface and the airbrush's rear cylindrical cap.

3. Hold Your Airbrush Properly: Hold the airbrush with the "knuckle" of the index figure resting on the airbrush's
TRIGGER. In this position, you don't have to bend your finger. It will also allow a better control of the flow of air and
paint from the "double action airbrush". Since the "tip of the finger" rests between the cup and trigger, it allows to
LOCK the trigger in the required position for desired paint flow.

4. Always airbrush LIGHT: as a "rule of thumb", you always need to start with a light airbrushing pass. You can
always ADD more paint, but you will never be able to SUBS TRACT any!

NO MODEL!! These lessons will NOT be on models. All we need is 18"x24" Newsprint cheap paper.

LESSON 1: Straight lines, from right to left, up and down, and diagonally.

LESSON 2: Dots of same diameter on a straight line, at regular intervals. Take your airbrush further away to increase
the diameter. Draw a circle around the smaller dots and try to come back to the same position.

LESSON 3: Mask a large rectangle with "sticky artist tape" (4" wide). Then use DARK BLUE color and make a
"gradient" of paint. Use "Tip 4" with light passes. No streaks should show. Not an easy task. Please try it...

I'm just about ready to finish an Eduard 1/72nd SPAD XIII finished almost entirely in MK paints (the black is actually Vallejo):

Thinned with a drop of windshield-washer fluid and Future. I like MK paints a lot for airbrushing.

WOw Thats a Nice 1/72 Build ! THe Photo makes it look full size, Huge ! But my mind is Spinning at How Tiny that really is. OH MY GOSH !!! How did you get those interplane strut wire cross braceing in ?!! ANd what did you use?

Did the semi-gloss sheen shown here come from the Future added to the thinning mixture? Or is that an added future clear coat post painting and decaling? Have you added a weathering wash to some areas? Looks Awesome. Do you have more Pics?

A Few First TIme Buyers were Shocked by Appearence of the Original Standard 17ml Amount of Paint IN a 1oz. Jar. I have tried to keep the Cost AS LOW AS Possible for everyone. TOPPING the Jars Off with FULL 1 oz/34ml Contents Seemed a reasonable Compromise. The Cost has gone up minimally, BUT The VALUE Has SOARED! Twice the PAint. You will have enough to spill on the work bench and Still cover up to THree LArge SCale Palnes Give or take!! THe only other hobby to give you this quanity are RailRoad Car Colors for Model Train Enhusiaists.

Listen I hope Every One will be happy with the New Amounts and can afford the little extra and WILL ORDER NOW !! What ever COlors they want. There are still are a lot of 17 ml Content Colors in Stock and they will remain at the lower cost until they are all sold out. All Replacement Stock is coming in the New Larger COntent Filled Bottles.

Happy MOdleing and Super Painting !!

All my rigging is done with .005" stainless steel wire, which can be found at Small Parts. I accomplish this by measuring with a divider, then cutting the wire a tad larger. Then it comes down to test fitting and cutting the wire until it's the exact size. All done with tweezers. ;)

I added another Future coat for the decals, then added another Future coat over the decals as a "decal sealant". Plus also needed over the ALPS-generated "grim reaper" decals. Yes, I did add a weathering wash, which I use oil paints.

As far as more pics, you'll have to wait until I post the full-build article on Internet Modeler, hopefully for the April issue.

Thanks for the good words!

I went and bought an Aztek A3205 airbrush 2 days ago. Ran a test with it on my compressor. I am impressed with it. Far better than my very old Pasche.

I will still use rattle cans for say primer coats. But I am looking foward to spraying the MisterKit paints I already have. :)

Speakinng Of Aztec's (Testors) Airbrushes. I got a 4709 Kit with all the nozels etc. for a bargain on ebay a little while ago. I used it to spray the primer coat over the Hobbycraft DrI Parts while they are all on the Sprues. It's wierd after useing a VL PAshace. It feels so light. and the tigger is the kind that articale clip is talking about resting your finger half way over the trigger. But it does work great and the best part is I whipped off the nozzle soaked it in thinner, blew out the gun, ran a pipe cleaner thru the receptacle and I was done. NExt COlor Please !! The point IS they make a "Cleaning Station" For All airbrushes really which is neat. Ive heard of it being scratch built with coffee cans and rags but this one is ready to go and has special nozzles to fit the tips of your airbrushes. It is a Glass jar with a filter inside the lid and a Nozzle/Cup to fit the tip of your airbrush in while you blow thinner thru it to clean it out. It all goes thru the filter and is trapped in the jar. I am thinking it probably collects all the thinner thru the filter and you can recylec it again to clean your gun with the next application. Internet Hobbies has it at a good price. Look Under Testors and then look under Airbrush Accessories. To See it. http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/azaircleanst.html
