Here are some pics of a Hansa Brandenburg W.29 built by Neil Bissell, a friend of mine (who has no internet yet!). He won best aircraft in a recent IPMS club competition here in Wellington.

Lovely work and one of my favorite birds...
From the Factory on the hill,
perusing my shelves for a build,
perhaps Caproni... ,

This is Christiansen's plane is it not? Concerning the C insignia; is it generally agreed that the letter was painted black, and not red? I've seen claims for both, (Dan-San for one being in the red camp), but builds and pics (paintings) always show a black C.
Trolling for controversy...

Any details about the build? Straight out of the box? Modifications? Did he use kit decals through out ( i.e. lozenge) ?
That is a great looking model, Mr. Bissell!

Neil tells me:
It is a combination of MPM fuselage with Toko wings and tail. Most of the interior was scratchbuilt: magazine rack, petrol tank, bulkhead, engine mount and pilot’s seat. Neil did use MPM’s cockpit floor, instrumentation bulkheads and the observer’s seat, plus photoetched control wheel, instrument panel, rudder pedals and seat belts.
He decided that the float struts were not strong enough and replaced these with scrap wood sanded to shape.
The MPM engine was substantially reworked, with valve springs and rocker arms added, control rods replaced, radiator pipe added.
Tom’s Modelworks photo etched gun jackets were used with Toko breech blocks. The observer’s ring was converted from a WWI wheel from the spares box.
The compass and tachometer on the wing were both scratchbuilt, as was the windscreen.
MPM’s two colour hex decals were used.
Toko float ground supports were used with a scratch built trestle and beaching trolleys incorporating Toko’s wheels.

Beauty!
I wonder if he used "standard" or "upgraded" MPM kit. Upgraded one has engine and details in resin, much better ones.
Cheers!

Hi Jamo I just love these aeroplanes, they are unique in design, how about a few more photos,I am in the process of building a 1/6 scale R/C model of this particular plane,it has a 66" wing span, hope I can find some where to launch it from when I finish it,very hard to get any good photos for detail.Hope to get some of it assembled in the next few months an post a few photos
