The trees on the left were all cut down in 1917 so you only see half of the airfield. You took a picture of J11 starting ground
J4 was situated near the farm in the middle of your picture.

It is pretty amazing how little has changed in almost 100 years !!

You're lucky, GMU--when I was there September 2004 the corn was over six feet tall! Still, it was fantastic being there.
