This is a dumb question I realize, but the thread under movies about someone's French being rusty brought this question to mind:
How does one pronounce 'Les Cigognes'?

see-gog-ye (same "e" as in "the")
gn : difficult to translate this sound into English as this sound doesn't really exist. It's a bit like the n with a tilde in Spanish : ñ
Think of it as the "ng" as in seeing followed by the sound "y" as in 'you'.

Sea-goy-n(uh) (soft "uh" as in when you stop clenching your teeth and tongue to make the "n" sound)

Sort of like See-goi-nya, (slurred together but not quite). As the previous post stated that French sound doesn't exist in English and is hard to approximate.

Try this one, sick ON yer. Emphasis on the On, ending almost silent.
