Hello,
It has been a long time since I posted anything.
I was wondering if anyone has any information on a WW1 German Pilot named Hermann Kohn. Here is what I know of him: Born 14 April, 1895 in Warius. Received International Pilot's License, Deutchland Nr.5566, 12 July, 1918. Qualified in a Bi-plane.
If anyone has any other information as to his rank, units he served in, or war record, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Rick

I think that is a very tough question. I could not find any location with the name Warius but it could be a location in the lost Eastern areas of the old Germany or a location which was "eaten" by a bigger village or town. (A number of people carries the surname Warius.)
Based on the name (Kohn) he could have been a Jewish German but I don't think I have seen this name among the men on Theilhaber's lists.

Thank you for looking. I stated the information that I could read from his Pilot's license. Sometimes my interpretation of the old German script handwriting is not spot on. The town where he was born, I read as Warius, but it could be Worius, Wavius, or Wovius??? The other information was fairly easy to read. His photo shows him in uniform, with visor cap and winged props on his epaulettes. I figured that being awarded his license so late in the war, there might not be much info on him. Best regards, Richard

Could it possibly be Worbis ? in Thuringia. The "b" and the "v" are quite similar in Schrift. R.

I will try to attach an image of the license to this post. See what you think.
Thank you, Richard

FWIW I read it as Worius. Now to tackle the map feature on Expedia.com. R.
