I had the pleasure today of watching the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland present pilot's wings to the latest graduates of the Royal Navy's flight training programme.
He's Henry Allingham - 110 years old, an ex-aircraft mechanic and one of only four surviving Britons who served in the Great War. He had tears in his eyes after he'd presented certificates and spoken to all ten freshly-minted Lieutenants. Not as many tears as those who heard him say "if I had the chance, I'd do it all again".
<S> and bless 'em all.
