Hi All:

Need some help with this one:

Does anyone know anything about Lieutenant Ralph Williams Young (A/C SE5 # B527) (No. 56 Squadron ‘B’ Flight)?????????

The only info I have been able to gain is that he was posted to 56 Squadron on 21 Sept 1917 and Struck off Squadron Strength on 12 Oct 1917 to Hospital. No reason as to why????

He was assigned to 56 Squadron for approximately 21 days!!!!!

thanks for any assistance!:D

Hi all,

Where are all the WW1 RAF/RAFC experts when you need them?

Here is a challenge folks, I'm beginning to wounder if he was a ghost or something.

Why did he go to hospital and what happened to him???????

Thanks in advance for any help.

I show three combat reports for him, one indecisive on Sept 24, 1917; one decisive (OOC, shared with 5 others) on Sept 29, noted in RFC Communiqué #107 as a Patrol Victory; and a second OOC on Sept 30.

I have his name as Ralph William Young. I cannot find an entry in The Sky Their Battlefield, so any injuries occurred during a non-operational flight.

The combat reports are in the NA/PRO as indicated by me in your other 56 Sqn thread.

Frank.

Frank,

Thanks a bunch, there is so little about him I was beginning to think he was a ghost. You wouldn't happen to know if there are any pictures of him, would you?????

your info has pointed me in another direction for reference material - tks again.
