Bruno- A German friend of mine and I are already bidding on this one. Unfortunately the EU/$ exchange rate is eating my lunch and someone with really deep pockets has been picking up all the good albums lately. Nearly impossibly expensive for American collectors to buy in Europe right now with the artificially low dollar.

Bruno,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Since it's listed in the "1918-1945" category it had slipped under my radar!

What an incredible album. Good luck, Taz.

What's the star shaped fort in that one picture? I know it was a pretty famous landmark from the air, but can't remember where that is now. I'd like to chaeck it out on Google Earth.
Thanks

Hello Rainbase

I think this is forts at Maubeuge , just after they were taken by german in 1914 (Leveau-cerfontaine-seen on the legend of the aerioal photos)

Thanks Bruno,

Great foto album!
I was amazed, or was it more like dumbfounded?
I was checking out the auction and it was at 256.00 EURO.
I pressed my "WATCH THIS ITEM" button, five minutes after arriving at the site and it had grown to 660.00 EURO!!!!
I thought that I was seeing things!
I checked the "Bid History" and sure enough nine time zones later it all made sense. The High Bidder had made four bids ten seconds apart until he jacked it up by 410.00 EURO.

Five days, sixteen hours left! Lots of room to bid!

VBR, Jay

We are still on top, but do not think we will stay there. Too nice an album and my friend and I are realistic about what things are worth.
