Aerodrome modelers,

It seems I have very little information about the Alb.J.1 only a June 1980 Scale Models(GB) and a copy of the Martitime and Reconnaissance Aircraft. I'm working on the new Jager J.1(which is very nice by the way). The kit is a version that does not have a spinner. All the pictures that I have (2) have a spinner. At what point was the spinner done away with? To determine the camouflage pattern of the wings I will need this information.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer

Tim

* *All the machines commencing with serial number *Alb.J.700/17 from the July 1917 orders of *J.700-749/17 and J.750-774/17. What serial number is shown on the kit markings? What is the camouflage pattern?

Dan-San,
The serial number on the kit markings are J.715/17. Upper wing camouflage is mauve, dark green, pale green with two chord wise white stripes between the cabane struts and the first set of interplane struts. The rudder looks to be green. Horizontal stabilizer appears to be pale green and green with the elevator has chord wise black and white stripes.

I f my suspicions are correct, the serial number is NOT J.715/17, but, J.415/17. J.415/17 has a spinner! Upper wing L.to R. dark olive green, pale green to the left root. Right root to mid span, mauve, pale green to the wing tip. Left lower wing, wing tip, mauve, pale green, dark green. (fuselage) right root, pale green, mauve and dark green. Tailplane, l.to r. pale green, dark green, mauve and pale green. rudder is pale green.
fuselage is clear varnished plywood, straw yellow. Armored center fuselage, cowlings, access doors foot steps and all struts were light grey. the undersides of the wings and tailplane and wheel covers were sky blue. This pattern was not used in the J.700 series. they only used two color schemes and 5 color printed fabric.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Dan-San,
Thanks again! Yes, the serial is J.415/17. It seems when I rely on my memory for these postings I'm invariably wrong. Thanks for the great information. I will add a spinner to my J.1 project.
