Three new kits available for purchase: the Pfalz, Roland, and Re.8!
It's funny as I just went to their website, and it was the same as before. Then came back to this site, then went back again and saw the change.
So I assume this news was made about 5 minutes ago!

US $65 for the Roland and Pfalz....US $89 for the Re.8.
Haven't even had time to study the decal options and what not as of yet!

Went to the site a few minutes ago. Came here to find I wasn't the first! [I] think the RE8 will be my first WNW 2 seater!

Made my order toute suite. Geez, my original order last week isn't even here yet! (New Zealand to Hawaii seems to go the wrong way around the world!)

What do you guys think of the new kits?
The Re.8 looks really nice to me. I'm especially noticing the detail around the engine/nose area.
Also, I love the Emil Koch Roland with the black/white stripes.

So, what are the next kits? When will they be released? What's taking Wingnuts so long? I've been waiting 45 minutes already!

Interesting take on the old question: interior green on the earlier Pfalz interior.

Well that has to be the fastest service known to man. I ordered the RE8 at 4 oclock this afternoon and by 6 oclock Dave Johnson was at my front door with the kit in hand. And it is brilliant! Exceptional! Wingnut Wings is on a roll. There should be no more "are we there yet?" for a LONG time.
Ready, set, build

The Roland is very impressive. I'd say it might be one of the best kits I've seen from any manufacturer.

In all the excitement of studying the 3 new releases, I didn't realize that they have updated the "News" section of the website as well.
They show some nice photos of the Gotha which is now listed as "coming soon" as well as 3 decal sheets for the Albatros DV and DVa.
Check 'em out!

Well another kit on order for me too - as an AFC buff I could not resist the RE8 (the kit even comes with AFC markings!)... been waiting for this one for a while, and with the DH9A on its way as well, it's happy days for me...! :D
Not sure if I can still call myself a "1/48 guy" now....

Although I don't build in this scale (yet) thank you WnW for your wonderful promotion of WW1 aviation. With an artist and fellow modeler running the company it just shows what can be achieved when you really love something.:)
Merry Christmas Wingnuts ,you guys sure have made it a merry one for lots of us here on the Drome. Cheers!

High points on the RE for me--
SUBJECT----love it......
Fabric creases
Stitching
Centre section joins very prominent
Alternative fins
etc
etc
etc
SUPERLATIVE---nothing else need be said in my humble.
The Albatros decal options do not excite me, it must be said-------I'll let Rowan do that with his superb Jasta 5 offerings....
Just my pennyworth:)

Oh now that's really gone and done it, the Pfalz looks awesome, to be honest they are all incredible and we still don't have a date or price for the Gotha. Wingnuts have rendered all other 1/32 scale WW1 manufacturers obsolete and another credit card goes spiraling into oblivion!!!

I have become hooked on the the WNW kits. Have always been into 1/35 scale armor and HO model RR, bought the LVG about 2 weeks ago and have started construction. I checked the WNW site today and found the new kits. I had too order the Roland and the DH9, these kits are amazing and have got me totally hooked on WWI aircraft modelling.

I will add that it is pretty awesome that WNW have the instructions for these kits already up on their site in pdf format so we can drool over them right away!
I thought the RE8 and Pfalz would be the most interesting to me, but after looking through the instructions, the details and lines of the Roland are extremely appealing. The Kissenberth version (love the full page photo!) I bet will be very popular - what an excellent looking fighter!

Man, the "Harry Tate" may be the top finalist for ugliest airplane ever built. I'm not even sure I can tell which direction the darn thing flew.
I think I will buy ........ 5 of them!:p

Can't help jumping in here. The Christmas finances took a serious hit this week. Three wingnuts ordered. Been modeling a long, long time and don't remember excitement like this. Even ordered a couple of Eduard 1/48 kits I didn't need because I felt guilty for getting pumped up for the larger birds. Trouble is I was supposed to buy my wife a new flat screen TV for the Bedroom but the money is gone.
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!!

The W29 and DH9a have just arrived on the doorstep.
After recovering from the usual euphoria when opening the boxes, a look at the manufacturing dates is interesting.
Plastic and p-e components are stamped as 2009 while the box, decals and instructions are labeled 2010. I wonder where the plastic items have been horded in the meantime
An indication as to the size of the W29 is reflected in the box. It's twice the depth of the usual offering. Not to mention that the spar for the wings is metal!

Ladies and Gentlemen:
All day Tuesday, I kept checking WNW News and Kits, finally I saw the Roland D.VIa was out and then the Pfalz D.IIIa, I did not notice the R.E.8 at first, When I saw the R.E.8, I immediately placed my order for all three.
Well today I received the Hansa-Brandenburg W.29 and the D.H.9a, they are fabulous.
Merry Christmas Everyone,

FokkerBoy-Geeze I hope not. I was planning on quitting my job to work on models-might have to move in with my sister and brother in law!!!!!
Dan-San- Those suductive lines on the Roland pulled me right in. Was talking to a fellow modeler last night about how I found such beatuy in the simplicity of the Pup's design. But I never really studied the Roland that much. Once I did I was ready to empty the wallet.
Question: the wood grain panels on the Albatross were alternated for strength. Does the grain on the Roland run parallel with the fuse from tail to nose?

Question: the wood grain panels on the Albatross were alternated for strength. Does the grain on the Roland run parallel with the fuse from tail to nose?
The fuselage of the D.VI was clincker-build, a centuries old boat-building technique were the hull is build up with partially overlapping lengthwise plank strakes. So yes, the grain ran lengthwise...

I've been wanting to buy a Wingnut kit but have put it off because of all I've heard it costs you to ship one to the USA. Can anyone "shed" light on that?

Merry Christmas Rob!
I received the W-29 & the DH-9a so far, the other three will arrive after the New Year I suppose???? Both are absolutely beautiful as expected! I can not wait for the Pfalz DIIIa and the RE-8 to show up though! And not to leave the Roland out also............. Picking which one to start building will be the tough part!
If you would like to see em let me know...... we meet every second Saturday of the month over at Avalon Hobbies..... I'll be bringing them with anyway.... and it may be closer to you?
Maybe the other three will come in by then also????
