I am new here and in the process of building 5 Wingnut Wing kits and a 1/32 Besseneau hanger to house these models. Would anybody know how one of these hangars would have been outfitted? Would they have had lighting of some sort? Work benches? Any kind of help would be appreciated. I would like to make this a great diorama of the period.

Thanks,
Paul

Bonjour Paul

Welcome to theaeodrome

Look at that thread I think you should find some interesting infos
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/other-wwi-aviation/44740-bessonneau-hangar-dimensions.html

May be you could use the 'search' menu (see left)
(by theway it's BessONneau hangar ,not Bessenau)

look here, you will see a model of a Bessonneau Hanger of Musee du Bourget Paris
Bernard Gineste: Les bessonneau d'Etampes (carte-photo, fin 1916) (http://www.corpusetampois.com/che-21-gineste2006bessonneau.html)

Thanks Bruno,
I already have all the dimensions for the hangar. In fact, the hangar frame is already built awaiting a canvas skin. What I really need to know is how the hangar would have been fitted with accessories. Did they have electric lights in 1918? Power generators? Maintenance equipment? Living quarters or would there have been a separate barracks? I would like to make thia as accurate a diorama as possible. Thanks for your response it is kindly appreciated..

Regards,
paul

Yes, the American hangars in late 18 did have electric lights in many cases.
