Does anyone have a size reference for a No. 1 Tecalemit Cap??
The only source I can find that has the fitting is an exotic automobile source
for Bugatti's. They come in 6-7-8-10mm w/ 15 mm heads. Tec. Au. does not answer emails. Button Heads are close, but not the same (round vs. hexagon).
Thanks

Ed,

Do you have an image of one? May be available in other parts of the globe under different names.

John,
It is not the shape etc, but the labeling. I have found todays version of the fitting, but have not been able to match it against the No. 1 Cap. That is to say; what size thread is the No. 1 Cap?
After doing more research I was even able to find on our own forum a British auto company that has the fitting in both metric and NPT (if I remember correctly).
The US company only sells metric (Bugatti) and the heads are all the same size (15mm) but it my being anal that I try to match the threads.
Thanks for taking the time to help. I do appreciate it!!

Making one Bristol part each day. One day I shall run out of....

Having looked at some reference material, which did not give a direct match to the No. 1 Cap, the 3 possible sizes are:

1/8" - 28 BSPP
1/4" -19 BSPP
3/8" - 19 BSPP

Have you ever tried to research something and only to find the thread goes off in some dead end??
Well let me at least fix this one. The No.1 Cap is obviously an old (1929) call out on a Bristol drawing. Since 1929 Teclaemit has redone their labeling.
But....the two following sites can get you in the right direction.

Classic car parts for all classic, veteran and vintage cars | Vintage Car Parts (http://www.vintagecarparts.co.uk/) has both metric and english and std threads as well as very british aeroplane hardware. These are the hexagonal grease fittings, not the button (i.e. round) type. ((Thank you SNJ5 !!!!!!)

Next is Classic & Exotic Service, Inc. (http://www.classicandexotic.com) (or is it clas......ticcar.com?) They have Tecalemit fittings in metric only. (various sizes for Bugatti aeroplanes of course).

Hopefully one day someone will add to this thread and explain what size a No.1 Cap would be.

THANK YOU one and all who have added to this thread.
