In the book "Sharks among Minnows" (page 39 - 40) it is mentioned that Gustav Leffers shot down a B.E.2 on 29.12.1915 (his second victory). The name of the pilot was Second Lieutenant David A. Glen, who was killed by a shot through the heart. The observer Sergeant E. Jones survived with injuries and became a POW.

Gustav Leffers was a member of Fighter Squadron 1 in 1916. being one of the early aces he was awarded the Pour Le Merite on 5 November 1916 after 8 victories. he had a total of 9 victories when he was killed on 27 December 1916.

When Ltn. Gustav Leffers shot down Second Lieutenant David A. Glen he was serving with FFA 32. Jastas were not "created" before summer 1916.
