Aeronaut books is pleased to announce publication of Eagle of Triest, the biography of Gottfried von Banfield, in two lavishly-illustrated volumes. Gottfried von Banfield was the leading ace of the Austro-Hungarian Kriegsmarine and the last surviving holder of the Order of Maria Theresa of the A-H Empire.
Volume 1, subtitled The Man and His Aircraft, focuses on Banfield and his aircraft. Volume 1 has 260 photos (16 in color), 15 color profiles, 35 color paintings and postcards, and has 222 pages.
Volume 2, subtitled Adriatic Air War, focuses on related aspects of the air war in the Northern Adriatic. Volume 2 has 229 photos (20 in color), 50 color profiles, and scale drawings of 12 types of aircraft flown by the Austro-Hungarian Navy. It has 196 pages.
