I am still alive and kicking, if anyone remembers me, had a bullet stuck in my Spad XIII, and had to... DUST THAT HUN.

But at the moment I am reading Flight to Victory, written in 1921. It's a good book. But I am looking for some writen today... and please no WWII.

Just reading "Flight Of Youth". Can't remember the author and I've left my copy at work- bloody good read, though!!!

PS. DON'T under any circumstances read the poor excuse for a Mills And Boon pile of rubbish called Vale Valhalla by Joy Chambers. It's bloody awful! Read The Good Soldier Svejk, if you get the chance...

Might not be what you're looking for, but Pat Barker has written ('91 - '95) a trilogy of WWI novels: "Regeneration", "The Eye in the Door", and "The Ghost Road".

I've only read "Regeneration", which is based on the antiwar protest made by Siegfried Sassoon, and his treatment in a mental hospital in England following the protest. The entire book takes place in the hospital, with flashbacks by several patients to their combat experiences. The other two books follow another character from "Regeneration" as he returns to France.

Who is the author of that book? If you have read "They Fought For The Sky" by Reynolds, is it in the same league?

Peter Saxon's 'The Enemy Sky' is also a good read

Greetings Paul: Reynold's book "They Fought For the Sky" is not fiction.
For a real read look for Billy H's novel: "The Great Dogfight of 1918" which is being prepared for printing by the Info Devel Press.
