Depends on the scale and detail you require, but you could start at www.multimap.com.

To all: Billy H tried multimap.com and itworks like a charm. All you need is a zipcode or a street address and the program will generate a map to several scales. I got a 5km x 5km map of Murvaux by entering that name and the zip 55110. For English maps one can select maps going back to the 1800s to see what those towns looked like then. I know that you can also get French town maps from the mapquest program on the internet. Mapqu.est will even generate an aerial photo in color...Amazing how it can generate a road map between two street addresses. VBRs Billy H.
