Have information on this staffel I know myself that it operated in the sector of the Vosges.

I seek one of his pilot the lt Hans Jungwirth which obtained 2 victories and that it flew on LFG Roland D.VIa n°3612 and on Fokker D.VII the two planes were painted in dark blue and it had 2 white bands on the fuselage before the tail marking of the unit. Fokker of Jungwirth had like emblem a white butterfly.

Black Baron- Sounds like you have some interesting photos. Courtesy of Rick Duiven's unpublished Jasta War Diaries here is what he has on Ltn d. R. Hans Jungwirth. He came from Jastaschule II to Jasta 78b on 28 July 1918 and stayed with the unit until the end of the war. He is credited with 1 official victory scored on 22 August 1918 against a DH-9 number D 5729 of No 104 Sq RAF at 0905 near Ingeweiler. Lt A G L Muller was killed in the action and Lt E Cartwright was taken POW. Rick says to take his info on who was shot down with a grain of salt. Jasta 78b was formed on 8 Dec 1917 at FEA 1b in Schleissheim and was apparently credited with 11 official victories during the war.

Dear Black Baron,

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but here is Ltn. Jungwirth with his Fokker D.VII (OAW) 4464/18 at the Jasta 78b airfield at Bühl bei Saarburg. It comes from the superb album photos of Robert Dycke.

You can find more photos of Jasta 78b Fokker D.VIIs in the "Fokker D.VII Anthology 3" from Ray Rimell's Albatros Productions. In fact, the cover painting features three Jasta 78b D.VIIs.

Here's another photo of Jungwirth in his Fokker D.VII.

You can also find photos of the Albatros D.Va and D.III fighters flown by Jasta 78b in Ray Rimell's "Albatros Fighters Special" and in his original Datafile on the Albatros D.V. The Albatrosse had some pretty spectacular individual markings.
